Project History

Workplace Basic Skills Network in Lancashire

This project involved a survey of both private and college-based providers involved with the LSC Lancashire Brokerage Scheme. It documented the number of Broker referrals and subsequent learning programmes.

The survey recorded levels of activity and achievement resulting from Broker referrals, and also explored the possible reasons for non-achievement. The LSC also received a useful insight into the utilisation by providers of additional development funding in 2003-04. This survey therefore enabled a valuable countywide evaluation of the impact of the Brokerage Scheme, via 12 providers across the county, and also invited proposals for further support and enhancement of the scheme.
