SEP - Social Exclusion Project:
Combating Social Exclusion through the Provision of Workplace Language
Programmes
A European Socrates Commission funded project, it helped to develop a
European model for stakeholder co-operation. This model successfully served
as a guideline for setting up partnerships among responsible agencies,
at local, regional, national and international levels. It enabled the
development and implementation of effective joint policies aiming at improving
the communicative competence at the workplace of individuals and groups
particularly in danger of being excluded, such as migrant and mature workers,
women, and people with disabilities. It incorporated a survey designed
and developed by the Network, aimed at generating recommendations for
combating social exclusion for these groups.
