Aims and Objectives:

• define Skills for Life, the national context, targets, agenda for workplace language, literacy and numeracy and the scale of the problem.
• consider the Skills for Life teaching and learning infrastructure
• discuss why Skills for Life training in the workplace is important.
• identify the benefits and barriers to language, literacy and numeracy training in the workplace.
• explore strategies to access language, literacy and numeracy training for the workplace.
• raise awareness of the training possibilities and ways to access.
