North East

Our work to date

The Network first began to explore how the Regional Development team could support the development of workplace language, literacy and numeracy in the North East as a result of the DfES – funded project Building Basic Skills in the Workplace Initiative 2000-2001. Since then a number of professional development courses have been delivered across the region, including the development of two new customised half day courses, one on Promoting provision to employees and the other on Reaching Employers. These were first piloted in the North East and have since been successfully offered nationally through our professional Development team.
