West MidlandsOur work to dateThe Network first began to explore how the Regional Development team
could support the development of workplace language, literacy and numeracy
in the West Midlands as a result of the DfES –funded project Building
Basic Skills in the Workplace Initiative 2000-2001. Since then a number
of professional development courses have been delivered across the region,
and The Network has recently completed an
action research project into literacy, language and numeracy support in
